Time Is Running Out To Get In On RowingTalks 2011

When Washington College rowing coach Mike Davenport and the United States Naval Academy’s Mike Hughes were running a coaching education program and charging for it, the interest level fell year after year.

So they decided to end the program and took a year off.

But then Davenport had another idea – get a sponsor, offer the program
for free, bring in a list of speakers and limit their time to 15 minutes
each.

“Bingo, it took off,” said Davenport. “Last year was the first year and we had 55 coaches.”

RowingTalks is sponsored by USRowing and the time is running out to get a
seat in the program. The one-day symposium is scheduled for January 22,
2011. The number of seats is limited to 100.
