Now I'm going to try using the hyperlink on this editor.

Article about Nyack in Bicycling Magazine.

Hi Jim --

I thought you might be interested to check out this short article in Bicycling Magazine about Nyack. It would be cool to promote Oyster Bay as the "Nyack of Long Island" (or Nyack as the Oyster Bay of Rockland County??).

Here's the article on their website - it is in this month's issue:
http://www.bicycling.com/tourdefrance/article/0,6802,ss1-2-13-20325-1,00.html

Or, go to www.bicycling.com and search on Nyack.

Cheers,
Claudia

(ps - I didn't get to ride out today...rained out. I should have stayed on LI and rowed this morning. Oh well, I had a great row yesterday. See you in a few weeks-I'm away next weekend.)

Hi Jim,
Here are some of the websites for cycling groups:

http://www.nycc.org - this is my cycling club. Many members are in Manhattan, but Oyster Bay is a popular destination for rides.

http://www.bicyclelongisland.org/ -- this is a coalition which has links to the cycling clubs on Long Island.

http://www.5bbc.org -- Five Borough Bike Club, which I think has more members in Quenns than we do (nycc), at least that's my impression. I have ridden with them before. They seem to have more rides where they go somewhere and stay there.

As I was leaving Oyster Bay this morning after Tabby's, I saw a group ride stopping at the deli on South Street. When I was on the water, I saw a different ride going along West Shore road towards Bayville.

Feel free to email me if you have any questions, etc. about cycling/cycling clubs (not that I'm an expert yet...I just started club riding earlier this spring, but I really like it!).
