Always wanted to try sculling in a single? Up to the exciting challenge of rowing your own boat, steering your own course, and powering your own progress?
Learn to row in a single, no experience necessary! Class members will begin indoors, learning the rowing and safety basics required to be out on Oyster Bay. Then the class will progress into training singles, designed to be stable and safe for beginners.
Summer Season:
Sculling 1 (on Wednesdays)

Sculling II
Looking to hone your sculling skills in team boats? Excited to move faster, row better, and progress faster? Join Sculling II and share the thrill of sculling with other athletes in two person and four person team boats!
This program is for students who have successfully completed Sculling I (or an equivalent program), and who are excited to sharpen their sculling in doubles and quads! Classes row to Mill Neck Creek, and regular attendance is required so that all class members can be boated. Developing good rowing technique will be the main focus of the class.

Mike Wagner
Mike began rowing in 1992 during his freshman year at Hofstra University. He learned to scull the following summer. Mike has over 15 years experience coaching at the collegiate, scholastic, and club levels leading his rowers to multiple state championship titles. He has coached at Friends Academy, Cold Spring Harbor High School, Hofstra University, and the Craftsbury Sculling Center. Mike is an active Masters sculler from Oyster Bay, NY.
