The mission of the Sagamore Rowing Association is to support the sport of rowing on Long Island.  The Town of Huntington is supporting Suffolk County in their restoration of the Coindre Hall boathouse. We applaud this effort, but have been told that any expansion must wait for the restoration to be completed.  In addition there is the concern that the existing programs may have to be discontinued during certain phases of the restoration.  For these reasons, we believe that a Community Boathouse should be built in the Town of Huntington.  We are proposing that the boathouse originally designed for the Town of Huntington be built on West Neck Farms (Coindre Hall) property adjacent to the Gold Star Battalion Memorial Beach.  We need to gather community support to ensure that this moves forward.

If you are a Suffolk County resident, please write, e-mail, visit and/or call your county legislator to ask their support in allowing a community boathouse to be built on the West Neck Farms (Coindre Hall) property, adjacent to the Gold Star Battalion Memorial Beach.
