About the Sagamore Rowing Association (SRA)
A Sport for Life
Rowing is a non-contact multigenerational sport that builds environmental consciousness. The sport offers a complete cardiovascular workout without impact. It takes immense discipline to be part of a rowing crew, the effort develops character and fosters team-building techniques critical in today's business marketplace. Rowing helps prepare young people for the challenges that are ahead of them, through focus, responsibility and integrity. For adults, rowing is reaffirmation of these very same skills and offers the opportunity to relieve stress, remain competitive as an individual or as part of a team and inspires an active involvement with nature.

Rowers
The majority of our rowers are high school and college students, but close to 25 percent are involved in our Adult Programs. Professionals from all backgrounds have taken to the waterways, building environmental awareness and physical endurance. For a complete list of the schools rowing from SRA click here.
Other schools in the area have expressed interest in beginning rowing programs, but Sagamore Rowing Association is unable to accommodate them at this time due to space limitations for additional rowing shells.
Each summer Sagamore Rowing Association conducts rowing programs for the Town of Oyster Bay and the Town of Huntington, training the youth and adult community.
